This is pretty amazing...a gift from family friends Hope and Barry...I'm hysterical! :) My mom sent me the pictures this morning...maybe he'll be a race car driver!
The Schwuzzard's is a combination of my last name, Schwartz, and my husbands last name, Buzzard (I've just been too lazy to change my last name...)!

Little "B's" First Ambulance Ride, Thanks to Mike
Friday morning, at about 3:45 am, Mike jumped out of bed in serious pain. He walked into the kitchen, and as I was waking up trying to figure out what was going on, I walked in to find him holding his side on the floor. I called 911 and off we went to the hospital.
After some pain relief from the IV and an x-ray, it confirmed what both Mike and the Dr. believed it to be...a kidney stone. It turns out there are more in his kidneys, so Mike will be following up with the Dr...we got home safe and sound around 6 am, a prescription of Vicodin in-hand (happy Mike), and he took the day off to catch up on sleep and rest. I told Mike that he has met his ambulance quota for a long, long time!
Later in the morning my mom came into the city to take me to my Non-Stress Test and then out to lunch at Le Boulangerie in Hayes Valley. The baby is looking great and my amniotic fluid is holding steady around 8+. From the looks of the pictures, he has some great cheeks. He was doing some sucking with his mouth (which we've been seeing him do a lot of the past couple of times) and he seems like a happy and VERY BUSY little guy. We only hope he inherits the Buzzard/Godfrey nose (sorry Schwartz family, but you know what I'm talking about). We are now 36 weeks and 2 days! YAY! I am off the terbutaline and have definitely been noticing more contractions, which at this point, is a good thing! We're gearing up for the big day. I can't wait.
Last night we just lounged and watched The Bucket List. I of-course, fell asleep, so I'll have to watch the end this morning.
Here are a few recent pics....hopefully we'll take some more of my belly very soon...
Here I am in the room to be...
Here we are at brunch...
This was taken before my shower...
I'll continue to keep you posted! Ha!

Our Cup Runneth Over!
Our baby shower was over the weekend and was hosted at Margaret's house by both Margaret and Kim. It was amazing. Once I get some pictures, I will post them for everyone to see. It was the first time I'd really been up and around since being on bed rest. However, it was so nice to be surrounded by family and friends. I definitely felt the love flowing and feel so lucky to have such wonderful people in my life.
We got so much STUFF! We'll have to change the little guy three or four times a day in order for him to wear everything.
I am officially stopping my medication tomorrow, and I think the doctor will be taking me off of bed rest on Monday...that means I guess he could come at anytime. However, I bet after all of this, he's going to hang in there until the end.
Mike's sister Mary graduated with her MBA from Kellogg at Northwestern this past weekend. We are so proud of her and excited for all of the wonderful things to come!
The haze from the fires is definitely lingering in the air. Yesterday you could really smell it, today it seems a little better. On the news yesterday they said there were over 800 fires burning in Northern California. That's unbelievable to me...
I hope to get pictures posted soon. Stay tuned....

Today was a Good Day!
I had to get up "early" this morning to go to a Dr.'s appointment. I went into the bathroom to get ready, and when I returned to the bedroom, look what I found wrapped up in my Snoogle (the best pillow for pregnant ladies...I got mine on Amazon and can't imagine sleeping without it)...
Isn't he cute? It's not the best quality picture, but I couldn't resist!
Elena picked me up and took me to my appointment. Good news, my fluid is up to 9.46! (The nurse rounded it up to 9.5). It's still low, but it's going in the right direction. That made me very happy.
After we finished at the doctor, we went to go get pedicures. I mean, if Elena dropped me off at the front door and I all I had to do was sit, I figured that would be ok. Don't my toes look nice?
It was time for a nice summer color!
When I got home Mili, Megan, and Marcio came and brought me my favorite Fruit-To-Nuts salad from the FLY Bar. That place has some great food. Here they are, looking full and happy....thanks for lunch, you three. Come back anytime! Mili is Petey's good friend/girlfriend, if they had babies we'd call them MiliPetey's!
Alright, so much excitement for one day. I think it's naptime.

It's Coming Along...the Room, that is!
The baby's room is definitely coming along. Last night we got the rug which is very bright and a little crazy, but I think will be a lot of fun. It's a FLOR rug, so it came in squares and Mike had to put it together himself. Here are a few pictures. The room is FAR from done, as we are slowly acquiring bits and pieces.
It feels a little "Alice in Wonderland," but I'm sure once the room is complete it will look great. We still need some shelving and some pieces of art for the wall!
Yesterday my mom came out to cart me around to various appointments. First we had my first of two Non-stress tests for the week (the baby is looking good). Then we HAD to eat and get my haircut. It's SHORT, but I figured something wash-and-go would be easiest. She came and folded baby laundry and took a basket of laundry home with her to wash. We have a washer/dryer here, but she didn't like going down to the "dungeon" to use it. All I have to say about that is, it's city living. We have a washer/dryer, we can't be picky. However, I am so grateful for all of her help!
The car seat and all of it's attachments came from Grandma Mops in North Carolina, so we are getting closer to having all of what we need. We are so lucky to have such wonderful family!
So here I sit, pondering what I will do today...I'll keep you posted.

Foggy SF Daze
The weather this week was beautiful, though I didn't get to experience it as much as I would have liked too! Today the weather is typical for this time of year, foggy and overcast. While on bed rest, I think I would prefer the fog...I hate to miss sunny San Francisco days. (Of-course, this is all for a good cause).
Mike finished the crib....da-da! Isn't it beautiful? I never realized he was such a handy-man. How handy. :)
Also notice (though it might be a little more difficult) the beautiful "Nordic Sky Blue" paint in the background. Thank you Kelly Moore.
We had 4 Dr.'s appointments this week. One check-in with my regular doctor, Two non-stress tests to check on the little man, and one big ultra-sound to make sure he is growing as he should...and he is! According to our wonderful perinatologist he appears to be a little over five pounds (with about 5 1/2 weeks left to go)!
Of-course, this up-date wouldn't be complete without a picture of our little man #1, Petey Buzzard. This is him, sleeping in the crook of my knees, part of our daily routine! He is so kind to share his purple blanket with me.

My First Blog
I am currently 33 1/2 weeks pregnant and on bed rest. Yesterday, after a visit with some friends, one of them mentioned that I should start a blog. This way, I can keep friends and family posted on all of the things that are happening in our world leading up to and after the birth of our "little man." I'm not very technologically savvy, but I figured I'd give it a shot!
I live in a beautiful flat in San Francisco with my husband, Michael, and our very handsome miniature daschund, Petey.Petey has been amazing throughout my whole bed rest experience. The majority of the day he spends snuggled in the crook of my legs, with that big old nose of his rested on my knees. He's great company (I bet the mailman, UPS, and Fedex might argue).
Yesterday Mike painted the nursery a brilliant blue and I watched him put together the stroller. The thing is HUGE and was hysterical to watch Mike assemble. I thought there might be a few moments where he was going to give up all together. However, he remained calm and now we have a beautiful stroller. Who knew strollers could be so complicated? I just hope I can remember how to take the thing apart and put it back together!?!?
So this is my first blog, how exciting. I should post some pictures of the nursery as it comes along....now let's see if I can get this posted. Hehehehe!
